The Need for Volunteers

Volunteers are vital to the life-saving work of Be The Match. With your help, we can add more registry members, raise funds to help patients in need, support new discoveries through research and spread the word to give patients everywhere hope for a cure.

As a non-profit organization, Be The Match relies on volunteers from all across the nation, with a variety of skills and experiences to help fulfill our mission. If you can help people join the registry at donor registry drive, we need you. If you can to provide support at a Be The Match Walk+Run event in your city, we need you. If you can help spread the word about our work with friends and family via social media, or by advocating with your state and national representatives, we need you. Whether you can provide support on a one-time basis or for a longer term, we need you. Whether you volunteer as an individual or are part of volunteer team, we need you.

Check our list of volunteer opportunities to find one that works for you.

Our volunteers share their thoughts:

Just before my bone marrow donation for a stranger I said a quick prayer. "Save this young lady’s life, and I'll be an advocate to this cause for the rest of mine." Happy to report that five years later, my recipient is living life to the fullest with my adopted immune system. I volunteer for everything Be The Match asks - helping them promote, recruit, fundraise and dismiss myths about the donation process - all in an effort to simply hold up my end of that bargain.
-Jeff

Be The Match is the love that endures and gathers us all from different creeds, ethnic backgrounds, and religious affiliations as one heartbeat of life.
-David

It is a very stressful time for patients who are waiting for a marrow match. It's about life versus death. They need to know that there are very caring people out there who are working hard to see that they get that a "second chance at life" and I am honored to do so.
