Chicago- Walk+Run Event Day Volunteers

Each year, thousands of patients need a marrow transplant but have no donor match in their families. They depend on Be The Match to help them find an unrelated marrow donor and receive treatment. The cure for blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, and 70 other life-threatening diseases is in the hands of ordinary people – your hands.

Be The Match Walk+Run raises funds to help patients with uninsured treatment costs, support continued marrow transplant research to improve outcomes, and add more potential volunteer marrow donors to Be The Match Registry®, giving more patients hope for a cure.

We need friendly, energetic volunteers ready to donate their time on event day to a great cause. Volunteer shifts are typically 3-4 hours, in length and you can sign up to volunteer with family or friends. Volunteers help with responsibilities like:
  • Set-up and Breakdown
  • Registration
  • Refreshments
  • Course Marshaling
  • Start/Finish Line
  • Water Stops
You’ll receive the training you need to feel comfortable in your volunteer role, a t-shirt, and the appreciation of everyone who works to help marrow transplant patients.

You MUST accept our standard volunteer waiver to volunteer at a Be The Match Walk+Run event. Please review the waiver below. If you choose to sign up for this volunteer opportunity, you will be asked to accept the terms of this waiver.
