Volunteers have an opportunity to support the organization in a variety of ways.
Support Services (Operations)
With tasks ranging from office support to translation, to assembling kits for online registration, volunteers help support our mission through a variety of service opportunities.
Patient and Healthcare Professional Support (Patient Services)
The one-to-one connection between a patient and donor is at the heart of all we do at Be The Match. Volunteers who work with our Patient Services group extend that personal connection by helping educate transplant center staff about the support available from Be The Match and by providing personal support to patients and their caregivers as they make their transplant journey.
Working with Marrow Donors (Donor Services)
Marrow donors are exceptional people. Be The Match volunteers walk beside them through every step of the donation process, providing information, advice and assistance.
Legislative Advocacy (Legislative Affairs)
Volunteers can support Be The Match by advocating with state and federal legislative representatives to help shape legislation, continue funding and raise awareness of the important work we do.
Marketing & Communications
Educating and motivating others to support Be The Match helps us save more lives. Marketing and communications focuses on adding new registry members, raising funds to support research and patient assistance, and adding more volunteers to support our work.
Growing the Registry (Community Engagement)
Across the country, our recruitment and community development staff work with businesses, civic organizations, schools and more to organize donor registry drives to grow the Be The Match Registry. Volunteers provide crucial support to the work of adding more than 50,000 registry members each month.
Service opportunities for students who want to learn about work in a non-profit organization – or for those who need service hours to earn a degree or simply want to gain valuable experience – are available in many Be The Match departments.
College Outreach (Be The Match On Campus)
Young people between the ages of 18 and 25 are crucial to the future of Be The Match. Students can gain valuable experience and service hours toward by joining a campus chapter – and leave a legacy at their schools.
Fundraising (Be The Match Foundation)
Be The Match works with individuals and groups nationwide to raise funds to help grow the registry, provide assistance to transplant patients and families and advance research that improves transplant outcomes.
